Short Report

Wow thursday evening (almost 2 weeks I'm in Tokyo riught now) , and still everything is strange and new for me...

Even if I'm just going to a supermarket or going out for lunch/dinner, and the people are staring at me...

I have to confess, that I started to get homesick a bit... I miss the flair in Germany... my firends... even my enemies... and most of all... the gossip there ^^

a homage to some of my friends

Anyway... something nice i want to tell...

Two days ago, I got my bank card... Ec-Karte we would say in Germany ^^

and i'm starting to get sick of some of the food ... I miss my german Bratwurst... and Currywurst... and the most horrible thing.... here in Japan, they have NO Paprika Chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a nightmare for a Snack lover like me               ( "> ___ <" )

Hmm so far I'm through with my news...

See U next time ^^

Resume after One Week

Wow... It's Monday the 30th of May 2011...

I survived one week in Japan - a country, where I was never before...

It was an interesting week, I found out how difficult it could be to take a train ^^, i was shopping in Shibuya... a place where everyone, who is visiting Tokyo, should go for one Day... I never saw an area like this... overcrowded... even in the week ... and more overcrowded at the weekend...

Just to Have an Impression

I was in Nichome, the gay-scene-area in shinjuku... that was, surprisingly, really similiar to the gayscene in Berlin, just a little bit smaller ^^
I ate for the first time in my life, some seafruit-food... a crab salad... and it was absolute delicious.

Yesterday, my honey and me wanted to go out to watch a Movie in a Cinema... so he took me to Odaiba...

A really nice Area... and I couldn't trust my eyes...
The Statue of Liberty...

Yes, they have a miniature Version of her here in tokyo

all in all... I'm getting more and more used to it... to live in tokyo... a worldcity... with many more people, I ever thought...

See you next week

First Day in a new Country

My first Day in Japan (Saturday, 5/21/11)
The day i arrived in Tokyo was really exciting for a guy like me, who never flew with a plane or was farther away than Spain (youth-travel by bus with friends when i was 17).
So the plane was landing and I got more and more excited to see my Honey (K.)!
When the passengers had to get out of the plane, I followed the crowd, b/c I didn’t speak any word Japanese… just some easy phrases like good morning (Ohayou) and so on…

So it took me about 10-15 min. to follow the crowd to get to the passport control… and another ten-20 min. to get my suitcase… so you can be sure, I was really frustrated…

Then I went to the exit… and there he was… my prince charming… and all the heaviness felt off of me… My first thought, when I left the airport to smoke a cigarette, was: “Wow everything smells like fried rice…”
We went to the train to go to his place… the way with the train took about 1 hour… more or less...

We arrived there and after a Nap we went out for lunch…

And then at sunset I was so surprised, that the sunset was so early… anyway we decided to go out and enjoy the nightlife of Tokyo…
The first thing… train-trouble… we missed the last train… so weird that the trains don’t drive through the whole night…
Finally we arrived at Ageha… a really nice club… where we met some friends of K.
I heard about them before… O and S.
O is a Venezuelan and one of the best friends of my honey… and S is half American - half Japanese. She’s one of the best friends of my honey as well. And she is absolutely pretty.

We had a great time that night… and slept very long ( ^_^ )

Prolog

My first trip out of Europe... my first intercontinental flight... My first flight EVER...

At first some details about me and why I'm writing this blog  ...

My name is Manu... I'm German... from Berlin...

But now I’m not a Berliner anymore... I decided to move away from Berlin to Tokyo... to my boyfriend K., b/c he
's living there... and a long-distance relationship??? No I don't think so >_<

He's American, but living for (more or less) five years in Japan... first in Osaka and now in Tokyo...

Anyway... I decided to move... and some people asked me: "Why????"

I just answered: "Why not??

So I arrived here in Tokyo some days ago... and I thought it would be a good idea to write about my first impressions of Japan, the Japanese people and everything that happens to me while I'm here …

And in the next days and weeks I'm going to post some blogs of my impressions and everything...

so I hope some people will read this, and post comments and so on

(^_^)
